The third EP from Thylacinus on Cosmic Elements is a beautiful lounge/chillhop/old school hip hop two tracker entitled ‘Roll Another One’. The artwork, titles and sound should explain what this release is all about.
The first track ‘Sunset Strip’ has that west coast feel but rather than being about the place of the same name, it is more to do with the feel of the track and the sexy bass line conjuring up thoughts of things happening as the sun goes down. Ethereal keys, funk infused guitar and beats as well as that sexy bass line make it all possible. The ‘B Side’ entitled ‘Portland Stoned’ is a multi-layered pun name, which is for the listener to work out as there is more than one Portland in the world, however, the track itself is a dreamy atmospheric beauty with a deep subby bass which shows exactly why the overall release has the title that it does.
The influence for this EP started for Thylacinus over 20 years ago and now it finally comes to fruition, adding to an already consistent and growing discography, with a vinyl album release on the way before the close of 2022.

The 19th release on Cosmic Elements is a Thylacinus rework of Tom Conrad & Mr V’s ‘Sign Of The Times’, which was originally released on Adaptation Music.
Thylacinus pulls out all the stops to rework ‘Sign Of The Times’ into a summery Cafe Del Mar track, with a fusion of jazz, old school hip hop, a dub reggae style bass line and dreamy, atmospheric keys and pads. Originally released as a house track almost a decade ago with several versions, ‘Sign Of The Times’ contains a message that is still as relevant today as it was then.
A very familiar name on the scene, Mr V started out with Masters At Work and has gone on to become a household name as a hip house vocalist, producer and DJ, gracing the likes of Defected, Strictly Rhythm, Vega Records, Dessous and numerous others.
Thylacinus has released several EPs on Cosmic Elements already and has singles alongside Da Funksta on the TOSNC label, with a vinyl album release due in August, also alongside Da Funksta.

NEW RELEASE – Dissident ‘Consequences EP’ [Cosmic Elements]

“Killer downtempo tracks!!”
SEAN SMITH (SMOOTH AGENT / CLASSIC MUSIC)
“MY KINDA CHILL!!!”
VINNY DA VINCI (METRO FM / HOUSE AFRIKA)

“I like best Late Night Anguish”
DA FUNKSTA (THE OLD SKOOL THE NEW CLASS)
The 18th release on Cosmic Elements sees the return of New York producer and talented musician Dissident with ‘Consequences EP’.
With parallels to early OM Records and Naked Music’s Carte Blanche series, this superb two tracker begins with the lush female vocal track ‘Late Night Anguish’ which features Dissident’s niece Cordelia Tapping on vocals. Dreamy and ethereal summer vibes all round! on the flip so to speak is the brilliant ‘Disemotioned’ which features Dissident himself on vocals and also has sunshine written all over it. Completing the EP is the dreamy, thought provoking and downright beautiful track ‘Release’, one for a summer’s afternoon without a doubt.
Dissident follows on from his ‘Phrases Of Life’ album, previously on Cosmic Elements, with his music also featuring on the iconic Distant Horizons compilation and on parent label Adaptation Music. With a wealth of experience playing for the likes of Quincy Jones and Miles Davis, this a producer who certainly emphasises quality and consistency.
